He says that when you reach the age of 30 years, it does become challenging for you to train like the super performing or elite athletes; however, the task is not impossible.

He says that athletes should have a good plan for nutrition and a good understanding of how to train their bodies to remain fit as the natural aging process starts. He gives you the following training tips when it comes to staying fit as a sports athlete-

You should focus on the speed of the bar instead of the weight- One should always note that no matter how healthy or fit you look on the outside, the natural process of aging will slow your performance down. If you are engaged in a sport where power and speed are essential, forget about lifting weights to the maximum during your training sessions. You need to emphasize your force development rate. You should not do explosive exercises in nature, like plyometric or ballistic lifting exercises, as they strain the joints and aggravate as you age further. You can retain your speed with ballistic training and going down with monitored control, and going up again as quickly as possible.
  2. A personal fitness tracker will help you- For an older athlete, you need to train often and harder. However, he believes that they should be very careful about overtraining. This type of training gives you more injuries than you can imagine. You should get wearables that track data where you are able to evaluate your real rates of exertion. This helps you stay at your maximum aerobics capacity and identifies some of the athlete’s personal limits.
